Alzheimer's

Alzheimer's disease is a non-irreversible disease and has no definitive treatment. Alzheimer's drug treatment includes relieving the symptoms of the condition and treating the accompanying diseases. Correction of the mental capacity of the patient is aimed at facilitating daily life.

Several drugs have been developed depending on some theories that have revealed the disease. While the acetylcholine substance responsible for learning in the loss of brain tissue caused by Alzheimer's is reduced, a substance called glutamate is observed as a cause of serious inflammation and degeneration. While existing drugs try to increase acetylcholine, they are aiming to lower glutamate. For this reason, donazepil, rivastigmin, galantamine and memantine are the general name of these drugs. Side effects are followed after drug use begins.

If there is improvement, continue in the same way, otherwise dose is increased or drug is changed.
