Ulcer

The diagnosis of ulcers is accepted as the gold standard of upper gastrointestinal system endoscopy (gastroscopy) after clinical, laboratory and imaging procedures. With gastroscopy, ulcers can be seen directly, biopsy can be taken, and microscopic changes in the mucosa and helicobacter are found. In addition, endoscopic treatment methods can be used during gastroscopy to stop bleeding. In the treatment, drugs that suppress helicobacter pylorimide acid are found positive and antibiotic treatment is given for infection.

Drugs used in the treatment of ulcers are H2 receptor blockers and proton pump inhibitors. Ulcer drugs reduce stomach symptoms by relieving one's complaints. In addition, it removes the effect of gastric acid on the ulcer and provides healing. Most ulcers heal with drug therapy. The other method, which is applied outside of the drug treatment, is based on discontinuation of this secretory nerve (vagus nerve) to prevent acid and pepsin secretion. However, there may be a risk. Surgery may be necessary if some cases of ulcers lead to problems such as bleeding, stenosis (stagnation), puncture. Ulcers are chronic and repetitive. It reduces the quality of life rather than shortening life. The healing of an untreated ulcer lasts 10 to 15 years. In addition, ulcer diet is also helpful in the treatment of ulcers.
