Laser Epilation

Laser epilation is the heating of the hair follicle by the application of the laser beam of the wavelength in which the melanin substance in the hair is sensitive. Melanine must be sensitive for laser to epilate. For this reason, all types of laser hair removal can not be done.

Today, the most commonly used lasers for hair removal are Alexandrite, Nd-YAG and Diode lasers. While Alexandrite lasers are particularly effective in areas with light skin and deep dark hair, Nd-YAG lasers are safer in dark skin. Very light yellow and white hairs are not affected by laser light. When planning for epilation, the current diseases and medications used should be taken into consideration, as well as the skin and hair color of the individual, because of the risk of spotting after laser applications due to the light sensitivity of certain diseases and medicines. Laser epilation applications are performed in sessions.

The number and frequency of sessions varies depending on the person's skin and hair color, application region and age. Demand for laser epilation implementation in men is also increasing. Especially bearded-cheek hairs, sunken area under the beard, dense hairs in the back and chest area are clearly relieved by laser applications. Alexandrite and long pulse Nd-YAG lasers are used safely in clinic epilation applications.
