Bone Defect (Osteoporosis)

Osteoporosis is the most common metabolic bone disease. It has become an important public health problem with prolonged life expectancy. Osteoporosis increases bone fragility. Fracture may occur as a result of low trauma. It usually begins after the age of 45 and increases with age. It is reported to be 40 ise55 percent for women aged 50mek60 years, 75 percent for 60 ,70 years, and 85 yüzde90 percent over 70 years of age.
It is the link between osteoporosis and fracture. It is predicted that 50 percent of women and 50 percent of men in the white race will have a fracture in their remaining lives. Osteoporotic fractures are usually spine, hip and wrist

  In the treatment of osteoporosis,  some drugs are used together with calcium and vitamin D that reduce bone destruction and increase bone formation. In addition to medication, it is recommended to regulate lifestyle, exercise regularly, and benefit from solar energy. It has been shown that the exercises which are applied to bones and which are applied against gravity increase the bone mass. Physical training In our department, specific training programs such as EMS exercise program are among the approaches that increase bone density in osteoporosis treatment while decreasing the risk of fracture and increasing the quality of life.
